As there are several F-100 static displays without an engine, Bob Dunham built the first faux -21 afterburner eyelids in 2011.  He put them in F-100F 56-3990 in Burnett, TX.  Click this document to view details of how he built the first one.

Ken Ramsay later improved the process when he and the MAPS staff built the AB eyelids for 56-3081.  Check out the following pictures to see how they completed the task.  The last picture also shows the fuel nozzles and flame arrester rings.
